Kimi no Iru Machi Chp 67 ~Kanzaki’s Boyfriend~

November 8, 2009 at 7:26 am | In A Town Where You Live, Kimi no Iru Machi, Manga | Comments Off

Looks like the excitement of Kimi no Iru Machi is finally back. Guess what, there are various developments in this chapter, much so then the useless filler chapters a few weeks ago.

Chapter 66 ended with Nanami asking Haruto for a favour, in this chapter it was revealed that Nanami wanted Haruto to PRETEND to be her boyfriend. The reason is simple, she wants to have enough face in front of her old classmate, apparently a pretty vulgar girl named Haruna Koba. Haruto agreed to this with reluctance and questioned that any other person can be her replacement. Nanami said not everyone can do this, indicating that she still feels strongly for Haruto. Haruto then told her that he needs to meet Yuzuki at 3.30pm and Nanami said her date with her classmate with end at 2pm.

When they go on a date, Haruna suspected that they aren’t really a couple due to each other addressing with family names instead of first name. Only couples or very close friends address each other by first names. There were also awkward moments when Haruna posed some perverted questions like whether they have been having sex describing Nanami’s ample breasts and how Haruto would really suck to fondle with them. Nanami told her they have been dating for 8 months. Nanami also stated that she likes Haruto very much.

After the date, Nanami and Haruto sent off Haruna at the train station. Haruto told Nanami that Haruna didn’t believe they are a couple and hence for some reason held her hand as the train left. This scene was witnessed (as expected) by Yuzuki who happened to be at the train station. The chapter ends off with Haruto noticing Yuzuki and Yuzuki’s more than shocked, but rather a solemn looking face. What a GOOD way to have a long awaited reunion, my dear Haruto.

Good day

As compared to watching animes, watching chinese dramas, especially those adapted from Jin Yong’s wuxia novels, particularly, the Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre makes my day. It’s a beautiful story with its latest tv adaptation after 6 years. This version dubbed the Deng Chao version has draw critics to be inferior to the 2003 Su Yong Peng version. However, I must stress that both versions have its strengths and weaknesses. Nevertheless, I like both of them because each offers a different version of the main characters. I especially love Zhao Min in the 2009 version as depicted by beautiful actress, Ady An.

What’s next is the hope that the drama will draw a good conclusion. I have particular fears that Zhang Ji Zhong, the chief producer of this adaptation will want a mixed ending which isn’t what I want. So I pray, now that i’m at episode 35 mid-way, that the original ending is kept.

Please do support the show by buying the original DVDs once it is out. Currently, the discs are only available in China. The TV channel is airing 2 episodes per day including saturdays, I think. The VCDs of the entire 40 episodes have been released while the higher definition DVDs are splitted up into 2 components, the first half has already been released with 20 episodes. The next 20 will probably be released after the show finishes its run.

Birthday and animes

November 7, 2009 at 8:09 pm | In Life | Comments Off

Finished watching the latest episodes of DTBG, kampfer, Railgun etc. Today is my birthday and is kind of sad that none of my friends wished me a happy birthday. Well, the thing is, others won’t wish non-impressionable people who are not good looking since they don’t remember you. Let’s just be frank here, loneliness is something that’s sad, yet it can’t be avoided. People look at you because of how you look, no matter how good a person you are inside, they don’t matter, do they.

Enough of the sad rantings, just wanted to point out that with another year gone by, and getting older by one more year, I want to grow wiser and become knowledgeable. This is the least I could do to my parents who gave birth to me. I think no one cares, but I wish people will learn to be more accepting of people. Always look around your surroundings and see, there will bound to be some people who are quiet, less striking but more of a heartfelt person. They don’t stand out much, but they are there for you when you need them. So please reward them and don’t forget them. Don’t be too preoccupied with the popular people and lose these precious mementoes. Make their future less bleak, shall we.

倚天屠龙记 2009 (Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre)

Although I love animes, but i’m still a chinese and historical wuxia chinese dramas are still my favourite. They are TV serial adapted by wuxia novels by Jin Yong, the writer. I love his stories about martial arts, skills, sects and especially he love between the characters.

There are several Jin Yong’s novels that are adapted into TV serials, they are all awesome and i’m currently watching the latest drama adaptation of one of my favourite Jin Yong novels, titled 倚天屠龙记.

More info can be found at dramawiki as well as download links here.

I plan to buy the DVDs of the entire 40 episodes series when it gets released here in Singapore. Currently, the DVDs have no been shipped to Singapore just yet, but I will expect it be soon most probably after the tv series end its run in China. However, the first 20 episodes of the series has been released in VCD and DVD formats with DVD spotting a better quality. As for the remaining 20 episodes, DVDs are not out yet but the VCDs are.

Letter Bee ep. 05

November 4, 2009 at 8:07 pm | In Letter Bee | Comments Off

It’s actually very nice to see Letter Bee again. I don’t have much to say bu Letter Bee gives me the excitement of watching it similar to when I first watched D.Gray-man.

The OP and ED theme songs are also awesome coupled with Niche cuteness. It is no doubt ranked 1st on my favourite animes of fall ousting Kimi ni Todoke and Railgun off. Despite the shorter than usual duration with only 20 minutes including OP, ED and a PV, it never fails to stop captivating me. Letter Bee will most probably have only 13 episodes, but I see potential in having more because the pacing of the story is perfect.
