In this episode the crew finds out about the reason why the outer lands are collapsing. It is due to a certain storm that is encircling the world land which supports as fuel for the Fonic machines and technology. The only way to stop the collapsing of the lands is to stop this storm but that is equivalent to stopping the sale of fuel which is higly depended on by all the machines. The crew then devised a plan according to some books to stop the collapsing but still maintain the storm. They recruited two researchers to secretly help them. However a spy sent by Van overheard what they were talking about. Van later approached Guy and asked him to join forces with him telling him that he is his master. Guy refused and said that he had already gotten over the desire for revenge of Luke’s family who killed his entire family. Jade heard it in the background and he reassures of Guy’s loyalty to the group.

Arietta attacks the crew in the hometown of Anise and in the midst of battle, the Fon Master tries to save a girl nearby from danger. An oncoming attack directed at the Fon Master was shielded by Anise mother. Through this encounter, Guy remembered the incident where his sister got killed in front of him while trying to save him. The induces his curently fear of women. This changed later on when Anise almost falls off the cliff while trying to catch a rare blue butterfly. Guy saved her by pulling her, hence taking the first step into overcoming his fear of women. Guy also assures Luke that he does not blame him and he chooses to stay with his group.

Towards the end, the crew reaches the core owhere they realised that the passage rings seem to have been deactivated by Van to make the outer lands start collapsing. As Tear walks around the circumference to survey it, she suddenly grows and the passage rings started working again. The crew was then able to measure the vibrations. Luke subsequently noticed that Tear was kneeling on the floor. It was due to that grow that may have activated those passage rings. Luke not knowing what is going on asked if she was ok. Tear replied in a puzzled expression. The episode ends subsequently with the mystery of Tear’s grow.

We have seen many character development and I feel that it is high time it develops Tear’s background. This could be the starting point. Look forward to Tales of the Abyss on the 9th of January as it takes a 1 week break.

~The larger view of the plot gets revealed with each passing episode. Van’s plans of creating a world entirely of replicas and killing all human civilisation is to merely defy the predictability of the score. This is crazy in Van’s part. Quite lame also.

~Luke starts to change a lot and seems to share a very close relationship with Tear. If you have played the game, you should be sensing the plot coming along well.
